Losberger, the leading prefabricated building and modular construction manufacturer, successfully expanded its automobile logistic buildings at Sanjia Port, Shanghai by adding thousands of square meters of new modular building. At the moment, 40,000m2 logistics buildings were constructed at Sanjia Port by Losberger, aiming to meet a wide variety of demand of automobile warehousing, maintenance and vehicle charging, significantly improving the logistics efficiency for auto customers. The new modular building will primarily be used as a charging centre with high end German charging equipment, which assures all batteries of the cars are fully loaded before being transported to the dealers.

By flexibly utilizing the wide space at the Sanjia Port, Losberger offered tailor-made solutions which meet customer’s specific demand. Compared to the traditional warehouse buildings, which needs months to complete, the standardized construction process and fully modular approach enabled losberger to complete the construction of the 2,400m2 buildings within one week. The modular buildings not only meet diverse sudden needs of auto logistics but also help customers minimize construction cost.

In addition to rapid construction and flexibility, Losberger’s modular buildings enable customers to save the transportation time and improve the logistics efficiency. Normally, imported cars need to be transported separately for inspection after they go through the customs clearance process at the port. Losberger has specified an inspection area at the auto logistics base, which provides a series of testing and inspection services including the PDI. By integrating commodity inspection, customs clearance and PDI in the same area, it saves time of transporting vehicles separately for inspection and thus optimizes the logistics management process. Overall, nearly 20% reduction in logistics cost is achieved.

In addition, as the project is adjacent to the sea, it requires the high standard of the wind-resistance of the modular buildings. After strict planning in terms of materials, equipment, personnel and technologies, the building finally meets the highest national wind-resistance standard and can withstand 12thwind.

“Leveraging on our extensive experience in automotive warehousing and logistics, Losberger aims to improve the logistics efficiency and reducing costs for our customers,” said Chen Yibin, Managing Director of Losberger China. “We are also committed to relieving the financial burden for auto logistics companies by providing a series of value-added services such as long-term lease and financial lease services."
