Views of the world of sailing


Losberger tents for premium partners during the Kiel Week regatta/Glass elements ensure views into and out of the lounge and of automobile technology and yachting.


The Kiel Week, held from June 20 to 28, is starting on Saturday for the 127th time. The aim is for more than 3.2 million guests from all over the world to find their way to the north of Germany, attracted by the right blend of top-class sport and a summer festival. Around 4,500 participants in the regatta, in 2,000 boats, will be on the starting line - and Losberger, too, is right in the front line of this tremendous event.

With Losberger as this year's tent equipment provider, premium partner BMW selected two presentation locations: the well-known BMX inner-city harbour, and Kiel's most northerly harbour site, the Schilksee Olympic harbour. The BMW sailing base is also sited at this competition venue, and in part, this is why the event organisers moved the main arrangement to here.

Losberger has many years of experience and skills in the marketing and supplying of mobile space solutions for exclusive sports events, and these are always required for Northern Europe's most important summer festival, especially for such important participating companies as BMW. Next to motor sports and golf, yachting represents the third pillar of BMW's commitment to international sport. In addition, BMW is a partner in the BMW ORACLE Racing Team, and Losberger tents have already been used at several international sites as a provisional team base and garage for the mighty carbon hull of the new superlative BOR 90 trimaran.

 However, more visitors and guests than boats and yachts need to be accommodated at the world's largest regatta in Kiel, and the BMW Harbour has something for everybody. The most up-to-date automotive technology and studies are attractively presented and linked to this most important yachting event by means of various theme parks and attractions. Some of the units which Losberger supplied were all-glass and air-conditioned tents to cope with the hustle and bustle everywhere on the site.  

This year, the guests invited by the Bavarian company were greeted in the BMW EfficientDynamics Lounge, which was set up at the heart of the sporting activities in the Schilksee. In Losberger's imposing two-storey Emporium Arcum tent with the round arch roof, the guests enjoy culinary delicacies in appropriate surroundings and enjoy the superb view of the harbour. This is also where the BMW Team's press conferences take place. The covered veranda in the upper section on the lengthways side of the tent is an ideal place from which to watch the thrilling races.

The George P. Johnson lead agency provided the idea and concept for this year's BMW presentation, and the Losberger team erected the many tent units on both sites in the record time of only three days.
