Glass palace on holy lawn

In 2013 family-owned GEZE celebrated their 150th anniversary under the motto “GEZE bewegt seit 1863” (“GEZE - on the move since 1863”). The world market leader based in Swabian Leonberg near Stuttgart specialises in innovative security systems for doors and windows. The company chose for its kick-off event Stuttgart’s impressive Mercedes Benz Arena as a venue, with special services provided by Leonberg lead agency Roedig+Partner. A temporary space solution devised by Losberger GmbH ensured perfect accommodation for invited guests in the stadium. On the holy lawn of Stuttgart’s VfB Football Club an impressive glass palace was erected for this gala evening.

Prior to mounting the tent hall it was necessary to protect the playing field’s lawn against damage by laying a special plate system. It was not until this basis was laid that Losberger’s huge maxiflex P1 could be erected. Covering just under 2,000 sqm, the event tent stretches across the full width of the playing field, filling half of the playing field with its adjacent terrace made of Bangkirai tyles used to cover the ground. Invited guests from home and abroad reached the impressive temporary spaces in their exclusive setting by walking through the VfB Stuttgart players’ tunnel, now furnished with red carpeting. The specialty about Losberger’s space solutions consisted of transparent roof sheets and built-in elements in the glass facade. As a result, the glass palace offered guests spectacular views to the grandstand and its surroundings as well as the playing field’s lawn from the tent’s interior. Adjacent to the main tent was a Losberger multiflex P7, measuring 12m in width and 51m in length, providing a service wing with catering, storage and technical equipment rooms as well as sanitary facilities. Event provider Party Rent of Ludwigsburg delivered the interiors and ensured a sophisticated lounge atmosphere on the terrace. All staff in charge contributed to turning the GEZE jubilee gala into an unforgettable evening for their guests.

Short periods for tent mounting and dismantling were a challenge with this event location as for this unique corporate event only a limited timeframe was available between a concert staged by “Depeche Mode” and “Stuttgart Lauf”. Project management had a total of three days at their disposal to dismantle the tent, including the weekend. However, owing to the tremendous commitment and flexibility on the part of the Losberger team, all laid out plates on the ground could be removed from the lawn on time and the area released, as agreed.
